Sofia MENAR to screen Iran’s ‘Dance with Me’

Iranian feature ‘Dance with Me’ has made its way to the Sofia MENAR Film Festival in Bulgaria.

‘Dance with Me’, directed by Iranian actor Soroush Sehhat, will be screened at the 13th edition of the Bulgarian event.

“Jahangir’s friends get together for his birthday. The occasion makes them think about their lives and themselves,” a synopsis for the film reads.

Prominent among the cast members of ‘Dance with Me’ are Ali Mosaffa, Hanieh Tavassoli, Javad Ezzati, and Pejman Jamshidi.

Earlier reports said Iranian films ‘Forty seven’, 'Sophomore Year of My School', ‘Just 6.5’, ‘The Warden’, and ‘The Badger’ will also be screened at the Sofia MENAR.

The Sofia MENAR Film Festival “presents the best of Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa cinema productions, including feature films, documentaries and short projects”, according to an online submission platform.

The festival “makes Bulgarian audience familiar with the culture and traditions of the Islamic world”.

The upcoming edition of the Sofia MENAR will take place online due to the coronavirus pandemic on January 14-31, 2021.
